Debut of the new Mystery of Two video for Mornings Call Filmed by Jon Mancinetti at Arts Collinwood

It’s been a busy year for us in the Mystery of Two camp.  After releasing a self titled LP on Exit Stencil Recordings we hit the road playing the Midwest and East Coast including this years CMJ fest in NYC.  Our travels have found us back in Cleveland prepping new material and working on various video projects, on of which will be debuting over the course of these events.

With the winter settling in the decision to approach Art’s Collinwood about a residency came from not only the desire to play and play often, but also as a reaction to the often draining doldrums of February in Cleveland.   As we all know, it’s cold and winter starts to drag on,  so having a series of free shows with friends is our attempt to fight the tedium the best we know how,  which I suppose one could say is loudly.  This  is our collective encouragement to have some winter fun.  Join us as we make our way toward this first spring of a new decade.

Monday, November 23rd, 2009

THE ULTIMATE TWO CD/TWO DVD RE-MASTERED EDITION OF SEMINAL RECORDINGS FROM OHIO ART-ROCK PIONEERS AVAILABLE EXCLUSIVELY ONLINE

devo
Burbank, CA – Electro-art-rock iconoclasts DEVO celebrate their early recorded works from the Warner Bros. Records vaults with an expanded Ultra Devo-lux, Limited Edition four-disc set of their first and third groundbreaking albums: Q: ARE WE NOT MEN? A: WE ARE DEVO! and FREEDOM OF CHOICE, available online only through www.clubdevo.com this holiday season.
Both albums have been re-mastered from the original analog recordings and housed in DEVO-luxish packages with a plethora of audio and video bonus material including the Live at the Forum, London 2009 concert video. The second audio disc is comprised of the complete Devo-produced third album, FREEDOM OF CHOICE, also re-mastered from the original tapes. Bonus tracks include the rare six-track DEV-O LIVE EP, recorded live at the Warfield in San Francisco circa 1980. Buy/Stream Chimaira’s New Album! - MW

Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

Chimaira frontman Mark Hunter shared the following on the band’s blog:

The Infection is coming out in less than a week and we find ourselves in a position that, in this day and age, is unique. With only six days until The Infection is released, our album has yet to leak on the internet. We would like to thank all of those who had their hands on the album that could have leaked our record but did not. The fact that this did not happen gives the album something that doesn’t exist for new releases these days: anticipation.

To our great fans, we want to ask for your help with reaching a goal. With each subsequent Chimaira release after Pass Out Of Existence, we’ve been able to outsell the previous record’s first week sales. In an era of downloaded music and an overall diminished market for CD sales, we want ask our fans to help us continue the trend of higher first week sales by going out and picking up The Infection in its first week.

As a way to get all of you to stop foaming at the mouth in anticipation, we want to say an early “thank you” by streaming the entire record on our Myspace tomorrow. We hope that you will hear the new stuff, love it as much as we do, and be inspired to go out and pick it up in the first week and make a statement for heavy music.

Check out what the previous Chimaira albums have done in their first week. Let’s beat Resurrection!

Pass Out Of Existence - 4,217
The Impossibility Of Reason - 8,320 - #117
Chimaira - 13,938 - #74
Resurrection - 16,346 - #42

You can buy The Infection now!

New FILTER update!! - PTP

Sunday, April 12th, 2009

Matt sent me this link that has some more info on Rich’s new record and confirms what he told us during his last visit to the show!

Kiwibox editor Steven Horowitz recently conducted an interview with FILTER mainman Richard Patrick. Watch the four-minute chat below.

According to Patrick, FILTER is currently working on a new studio album which will sound “way meaner” than last year’s “Anthems For The Damned”. Tentatively due in August, “It’s gonna kind of veer off the political path,” the singer says. “I’m kind of focusing back on what I know best, which is kind of just the insanity of being a human being, dealing with mental issues — the stuff that we all know and the stuff that we all go through.”
