Buy/Stream Chimaira’s New Album! - MW

Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

Chimaira frontman Mark Hunter shared the following on the band’s blog:

The Infection is coming out in less than a week and we find ourselves in a position that, in this day and age, is unique. With only six days until The Infection is released, our album has yet to leak on the internet. We would like to thank all of those who had their hands on the album that could have leaked our record but did not. The fact that this did not happen gives the album something that doesn’t exist for new releases these days: anticipation.

To our great fans, we want to ask for your help with reaching a goal. With each subsequent Chimaira release after Pass Out Of Existence, we’ve been able to outsell the previous record’s first week sales. In an era of downloaded music and an overall diminished market for CD sales, we want ask our fans to help us continue the trend of higher first week sales by going out and picking up The Infection in its first week.

As a way to get all of you to stop foaming at the mouth in anticipation, we want to say an early “thank you” by streaming the entire record on our Myspace tomorrow. We hope that you will hear the new stuff, love it as much as we do, and be inspired to go out and pick it up in the first week and make a statement for heavy music.

Check out what the previous Chimaira albums have done in their first week. Let’s beat Resurrection!

Pass Out Of Existence - 4,217

Zach’s new CD released as part of a benefit! -PTP

Here are the details from Zach:

Zach celebrates his 9th release to benefit Cuyahoga Falls High School Theater Department!

Zach has come a long way from his humble open mic beginnings exactly one decade ago. He’s performe d over 2,000 shows in states from coast to coast, on stages of all shapes and sizes. It’s a schedule that has found him on bills with Neil Yo ung, Gin Blossoms, Bad Company, and newcomers like Brett Dennon, Jen Chapin, and Trevor Hall. “I absolutely love performing! I couldn’t not perform. It’s something in the blood, I think. But I also do it to see the smiles on people’s faces. To see someone get lifted up is an amazing feeling!”

On April 25th, he releases his 9th CD, What I Meant to Say, which was recorded over the course of several months in Atlanta, GA and co-produced by Nick Chawala (Gym Class Heroes, Outkast, Collective Soul, Elton John) and features his talented band of Northeast Ohio musicians. The songs on this recording are the most personal of his career, including several written while his father was fighting Pancreatic Cancer and shortly after his father lost that battle in 2006. “I feel this is the best that I’ve ever done, and is more of a genuine and honest record. These songs were all written in a period of high emotion, and both the band and Nick did a fantastic job capturing that.”

To mark this special occasion, there will be a CD Release Concert on April 25th at the Cuyahoga Falls High School (2300 4th St, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221). The show kicks off at 7:00pm with a local band from the high school opening the evening. Zach will be having several special guests during his set. Tickets are only $7 –or – 2 for $10! Plus, each ticket entitles the bearer to $3 off the new CD. Tickets can be purchased at the school, online at ww.zachmusic.net/order.html, and at all upcoming Zach appearances.

“I’m very excited to be working with the Cuyahoga Falls Theater and Stage departments. Sadly, the arts are always the first experiences cut in schools, so any way I can help them, I will. Plus, this will also benefit the sound and stage program at the high school. My father was my soundman, and respected for his skills in the community, and I think he would be happy to see this department helped along.”

His shows have been called “incredible” and “uplifting.”

Please attend this unique and uplift ing event on Saturday April 25th! The doors open at 6:00pm, and the show begins at 7:00pm. Contact Zach at 440.668.1687 if you have any questions or would like further information. Online ticket orders and information is available at http://www.zachmusic.net/order.html.

What a very cool thing to do, which is no suprise to those that know him! Here’s a pic from his last show visit.

Suede Brothers Review from Citizen Dick - PTP

 The Suede Brothers

The Suede Brothers - Ill New You

In early January, I was pummeled by a local band opening for Heartless Bastards at Beachland. Suede Brothers is a local trio that refers to their sound as “Rust-Belt Rock N’ Roll” and this description fits perfectly. This is a Cleveland band that we’re hoping people get behind. Their 2007 self-titled debut picked up quite a bit of steam locally and their 2009 album, Ill New You is almost complete, two brand new premier tracks available below. The first things you’ll notice are the huge riffs singer/guitarist Dylan Francis punches you with. Rust-belt rock, if indeed a genre, has never been so large. An immediate recent reference that pops to mind is Wolfmother, but the major difference is Suede Brothers’ sound involves no gimmicks and the overall vibe and feeling of throwback power blues is honest and sincere. Francis shreds on his Les Paul and his high-pitched vocals are pulsing with raw energy. Blues crunch, pounding percussion, and unforgettably staunch riffs leap from the speakers. We’re shocked the national scene hasn’t picked up on these guys as of yet. Their myspace page is ripe with attention and it’s only a matter of time before these guys take off.

Our initial impression of this band was rooted in their crushing live performance. The intensity and loudness of Suede Brothers live is a grand and rattling experience. However, it’s important to note that this doesn’t overshadow the crisp and tightly organized arrangements. Blues rock is a well-worn path but it always works when done well. Francis, along with bassist Kevin Naughton and surehanded drummer Mike Varga know what they’re doing and are well worth your time. They want to kick your ass for awhile in concert, but also capture this element nicely in recorded material. These guys play at Annabell’s in Akron tonight, and we’ll certainly keep you posted on the release of the new album. Pressing is supposed to happen soon.
