Debut of the new Mystery of Two video for Mornings Call Filmed by Jon Mancinetti at Arts Collinwood
It’s been a busy year for us in the Mystery of Two camp. After releasing a self titled LP on Exit Stencil Recordings we hit the road playing the Midwest and East Coast including this years CMJ fest in NYC. Our travels have found us back in Cleveland prepping new material and working on various video projects, on of which will be debuting over the course of these events.
With the winter settling in the decision to approach Art’s Collinwood about a residency came from not only the desire to play and play often, but also as a reaction to the often draining doldrums of February in Cleveland. As we all know, it’s cold and winter starts to drag on, so having a series of free shows with friends is our attempt to fight the tedium the best we know how, which I suppose one could say is loudly. This is our collective encouragement to have some winter fun. Join us as we make our way toward this first spring of a new decade.

Here are the details from Zach: Zach celebrates his 9th release to benefit Cuyahoga Falls High School Theater Department! Zach has come a long way from his humble open mic beginnings exactly one decade ago. He’s performe d over 2,000 shows in states from coast to coast, on stages of all shapes and sizes. It’s a schedule that has found him on bills with Neil Yo ung, Gin Blossoms, Bad Company, and newcomers like Brett Dennon, Jen Chapin, and Trevor Hall. “I absolutely love performing! I couldn’t not perform. It’s something in the blood, I think. But I also do it to see the smiles on people’s faces. To see someone get lifted up is an amazing feeling!” On April 25th, he releases his 9th CD, What I Meant to Say, which was recorded over the course of several months in Atlanta, GA and co-produced by Nick Chawala (Gym Class Heroes, Outkast, Collective Soul, Elton John) and features his talented band of Northeast Ohio musicians. The songs on this recording are the most personal of his career, including several written while his father was fighting Pancreatic Cancer and shortly after his father lost that battle in 2006. “I feel this is the best that I’ve ever done, and is more of a genuine and honest record. These songs were all written in a period of high emotion, and both the band and Nick did a fantastic job capturing that.” To mark this special occasion, there will be a CD Release Concert on April 25th at the Cuyahoga Falls High School (2300 4th St, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221). The show kicks off at 7:00pm with a local band from the high school opening the evening. Zach will be having several special guests during his set. Tickets are only $7 –or – 2 for $10! Plus, each ticket entitles the bearer to $3 off the new CD. Tickets can be purchased at the school, online at ww.zachmusic.net/order.html, and at all upcoming Zach appearances. “I’m very excited to be working with the Cuyahoga Falls Theater and Stage departments. Sadly, the arts are always the first experiences cut in schools, so any way I can help them, I will. Plus, this will also benefit the sound and stage program at the high school. My father was my soundman, and respected for his skills in the community, and I think he would be happy to see this department helped along.” His shows have been called “incredible” and “uplifting.” Please attend this unique and uplift ing event on Saturday April 25th! The doors open at 6:00pm, and the show begins at 7:00pm. Contact Zach at 440.668.1687 if you have any questions or would like further information. Online ticket orders and information is available at http://www.zachmusic.net/order.html. What a very cool thing to do, which is no suprise to those that know him! Here’s a pic from his last show visit.

Cheap Date with The Suede Brothers! - Matt WardlawTuesday, April 7th, 2009Armed with new tunes, Cleveland power trio smashers The Suede Brothers will open the May installment of Radio 92.3’s Cheap Date concert series at House of Blues in The Cambridge Room. People in Planes headline the next Cheap Date, on Wednesday, May 20th. Tickets are $5 in advance, and go on sale Friday morning at 10am. The Suede Brothers have a couple of worthy shows on tap, including a show on Friday, April 17th at the Beachland with Living Stereo and User Sets Mode+! For those of you that enjoy a good road trip, I can strongly recommend kicking it down to Columbus the following night (4/18) where the Bros will be opening a reunion date by stoner legends (in my book anyway,) Karma To Burn! I think that Wesley Willis (R.I.P.) woulda said that Karma to Burn whips major ass, and really kick out the jams. Something like that. Speaking of the House of Blues: Our good friends Sindust will be opening for Days of the New off-shoot Tantric at the House of Blues in the Cambridge Room on Wednesday, April 29th. Both Sindust and Tantric have new albums to soak in, if you haven’t heard ‘em. Those of you that checked out the show that we did late last year with Sindust, know how good that new stuff is. And if you’ve somehow been asleep and missed hearing it on the show, take our word for it, you’ll dig it - go check ‘em out at the House of Blues on April 29th! |
